From the West – April 2019

Greetings Brethren from the West,

It’s spring time! This means a lot of things; the beginning of Baseball season, the weather changes (a little), flowers bloom, BBQ grills fire up, and the little snow we got this year begins to melt away. But no matter what season we are in, it’s always Masonic season, a season to do great things for ourselves, our families and our community.

During early spring, the axis of the Earth is increasing its tilt relative to the Sun, and the length of daylight rapidly increases. The Hemisphere begins to warm up significantly, causing new plants to grow, this is known as “Spring Forth”, giving the season its name. Spring also brings us holidays such as Easter, Labor Day and May Day. The worst part of spring for many people is that it’s also knows as allergy season.

Brethren, the reason why I’m bringing up spring is this; as the seasons change throughout the year, we have to ever remember that we too change, for the better in many cases; from improving in ritual as an officer to seeing life in a whole new perspective as a Mason. As our saying goes, Freemasonry makes good men better.

Thank you for reading.

Fraternally,

Luciano Leon
