From the South – July 2019

Greetings from the Station of Beauty!

I cannot believe we are about to enter July! It has been a true honor serving each and everyone of you and I am looking forward to ending this year with a bang! June stated meeting was  a big hit, where we served a baked potato bar, which included amazing chili and all the fixins’ with it! July we celebrate our countries independence and the true meaning of freedom, so for July we will be service burgers, cheeseburgers, hot dogs, and bratwurst with all the sides that go along with it! It is definitely one Stated Meeting not to miss!

As Freemasons, we are taught to practice charity throughout our lives. One project I am personally supporting is the Raise a Read Campaign. Raising A Reader’s mission is to engage caregivers in a routine of book sharing with their children from birth through age eight to foster healthy brain development, healthy relationships, a love of reading, and the literacy skills critical for school success.

Through a network of more than 2,900 locations, Raising A Reader reaches more than 126,000 children and families each year. Since our inception in 1999, we have helped 1.625 million families build and maintain reading routines in their homes, with special attention to those at highest-risk for educational failure. Every year the Grand Master himself comes to Anaheim and awards the Orange County School District a check to donate to help all children in the district to read.

Since it happens in Anaheim, and we are the Anaheim Lodge, I am throwing a Pancake Breakfast on August 17, from 7am – 11am. Only 10$ gets you unlimited Pancaked and other breakfast foods that makes the best start to any morning! All proceeds are going to be donated to this program. Come and help fight illiteracy!
